Karin Ann Kozin
April 2nd 1956 – August 24th 2012
The last of the Kozin Girls to leave this planet. It was the end of an era. Karin was a spirited soul. She loved The Bench Shop in Willimantic and all their oils and jewelry. She was especially fond of patchouli oil and wearing just 1 earring at a time! Even on the worst of days nothing could bring her spirit down. All one had to do was bring a dog (or even just a dog picture) to visit her and she’d be all smiles. She had a special knack with animals especially dogs. She had many dogs during her lifetime but her favorite was her basset hound Otis Beauregard. She loved him so much that she kept his ashes for many, many years so that they could be buried together. He was a great dog and loved dancing with the kids who always visited the house. Many Christmas mornings Karin would visit the local dog pounds bringing them presents of treats, toys, food and blankets. She loved volunteering her time with dogs and all the visiting dogs at Regency Health knew she’d have special cookies for them! Karin loved picnics at Natchaug Forrest and would frequently visit there with her long-term boyfriend Dale. She loved having cookouts and playing in the water. Karin loved eating steak or pork chops for breakfast and ordering food from Greg’s Pizza and Papa’s Pizza. She loved music and could always “name that tune.” She spent many hours in her room at Regency just listening to music and introducing new genres to other patients. Karin worked at Caldor for many years. She loved it there and loved working with the public. She was a true child of the 60’s who lived a life of universal peace and love. She graduated Magna Cum Laude at Psychedelic State. All who came across Karin’s path left amazed at her complex understanding of life’s mysteries. Karin will be sadly missed by everyone. She was a wonderful person with such a large heart. Although there was much she couldn’t do, she kept in her heart all the wonderful things she wanted to do for others and that means just as much.
